Former footballer Haytham Mustafa Karar, popularly known as ‘The Prince,’ has signed a Sudan national team jersey that has been added to the collection at Qatar’s Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Museum (FBQ Museum) — one of the world’s largest private museums — which houses a prestigious array of football jerseys from around the world.
Mustafa presented the jersey to Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, the owner of the museum, and a prominent Qatari businessman, billionaire, and member of the Al Thani ruling family, on 22 April 2026, and was then taken on an exclusive tour of the expansive museum.
Established in 1998, FBQ Museum is one of Qatar’s most prominent cultural institutions. With more than 15,000 items and 40,000 artefacts, its extensive collection showcases Sheikh Faisal’s personal interests and experiences, featuring Islamic art, Qatari heritage, classic vehicles, handmade carpets, as well as coins and currency from across four continents.
Mustafa’s jersey is among the museum’s newest additions and marks the first Sudanese national team jersey to be included in its collection.
Born on 19 July 1977, Haytham Mustafa Karar played as a midfielder and captained both Al Hilal Omdurman and the Sudan national team. He was one of the most promising players of Africa in the early 1990s and led the Sudanese national team to qualify for the 2008 African Cup of Nations, which was the first time for the national team to qualify in over 30 years.
He is now based in Qatar, where he works as a sports analyst for beIN SPORTS, a global sports and entertainment network headquartered in Doha and owned by beIN Media Group. The network remains the leading sports broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), holding exclusive rights to major football leagues, motorsports, and Olympic events.
