The Sudan Powerboat Racing Team, widely known as the Black Pharaoh Team, is an international racing outfit competing in the UIM F4 World Championship. The Team is a rising force on the international hydroplane circuit, making waves across Europe and the Middle East.
Racing under the Sudanese flag, the Black Pharaoh Team has been a dominant force in the 2026 UIM F4 World Championship, which opened in Klaipėda, Lithuania on 6-7 June, winning Round 1, leading the overall championship standings.
The Black Pharaoh Team successfully signed Swedish bronze medallist Adam Wrenkler to pilot their craft as lead boat racer. Wrenkler, the son of veteran offshore racers Thomas and Annika, won the UIM GT15 World Championship in Finland in 2017. He has since built a consistent record in formula circuit racing, finishing third in the 2025 UIM F4 World Championship at the decisive rounds on Lake Viverone in October 2025. Piloted by Wrenkler, the team is taking pole positions and securing podium finishes in European and Scandinavian events.
The team also features a multi-national driver line-up, and is backed by an experienced technical management team. The team has benefited from seasoned sporting directors and management, such as Frode Sundsdal, who help guide young international talent while representing Sudan on the global stage.
Black Pharaoh are a Sudanese-backed team with direct title ambitions for 2026. In 2025 they ran Norwegian driver William Martinsen, who took two race wins and three of four pole positions across the season. A fuel pump failure while leading Round 3 handed the initiative to Latvia’s Nils Slakteris, who went on to take the championship. The team’s post-season position was unambiguous.
The 2026 UIM F4 World Championship is set to conclude its decisive rounds (Rounds 3 and 4) at Viverone, Italy, from 7–9 August.
