Sudanese singer Jafar Amin released a new version of his hit song “Kalnar” (“Like Fire”) on 19 June 2026, featuring a powerhouse duet with Canadian pop singer Zeina.
Zeina Aridi, known mononymously as Zeina, is of Lebanese and Egyptian descent. She seamlessly incorporates pop, R&B, and Arabic music influences into her distinct style, performing in English, French, and Arabic. Some of her most popular and trending tracks include “Give Me Time”, “Hooked”, and the viral hit “NASTY” (alongside the popular remix featuring Saint Levant).
In this new rendition of “Kalnar”, Zeina sings in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and the Sudanese dialect alongside Amin, while also introducing the Levantine dialect she is widely known for.
Amin originally released “Kalnar” in January 2026 as the lead single and title track of his album. The song is a soft, romantic tune about a fiery love between two people, beautifully sung in a blend of MSA and colloquial Sudanese. Jafar Amin is the younger brother of renowned singer Ahmed Amin, who actively contributes to Jafar’s musical journey by handling the mixing and mastering of his tracks.
The exciting cross-cultural collaboration was born out of Amin’s recent industry breakthrough. In February 2026, he was named the winner of XPERFORM, a prestigious talent discovery and singing competition presented by the MDLBEAST Foundation, a Saudi-based entertainment organisation deeply rooted in regional music culture. Winning the competition paved the way for his collaboration with Zeina.
