Sudanese actor and comedian, Mukhtar Bakhit, popularly known as “Al Da’itar,” passed away on 19 April 2026 in Saudi Arabia after suffering a heart attack.
He was best known and widely appreciated in Sudan for bringing humour to local screens and for creating the familiar and beloved character “Al Da’itar,” which became a prominent figure in Sudanese television and comedy, and part of the country’s popular culture.
He also gained recognition through comedy sketches and television appearances that reflected everyday Sudanese life. His distinctive humorous style and personality often portrayed simple, relatable characters, allowing him to connect with audiences through social satire and light-hearted storytelling.
Many took to social media to mourn her loss.
