Sudanese Singer Yousif Hassan Joins The Voice: Ahla Sawt

Sudanese singer Yousif Hassan is competing on MBC’s The Voice: Ahla Sawt, where his performance of Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” earned him two out of three chair turns.

The first judge to turn for Hassan was Iraqi singer Rahma Riad, leading him to choose her as his coach and join her team. Syrian singer Nassif Zeytoun turned just before Hassan finished his song, while Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad did not turn his chair.

The sixth season of The Voice: Ahla Sawt premiered on 29 October 2025, marking the show’s return after a six-year hiatus. The Arabic adaptation of NBC’s American reality competition series The Voice airs on MBC.

Hassan is a Sudanese singer-songwriter based in the UAE, known for his soulful covers of R&B, pop, and funk songs shared on social media. He has performed live at events such as the Dubai Shopping Festival, The Alley at MiZa in Abu Dhabi, and PizzaExpress Live in Dubai. Alongside competing on The Voice: Ahla Sawt, he is currently working on his debut album.

In addition, Hassan has used his voice to raise awareness about the ongoing war in Sudan, which began in 2023. He covered Lukas Graham’s “7 Years,” rewriting the lyrics to reflect the realities and suffering caused by the conflict.

The Voice: Ahla Sawt airs every Wednesday on MBC at 9:30 pm (GMT+3) KSA time.
