
Debonairs Pizza reopened in Sudan on 15 September 2025 with its first branch on Al Wadi Street in Omdurman.
Before the war in Sudan began in 2023, the South African brand had at least eight branches across Khartoum, including Al Amarat, Al Riyadh, Bahri, and Omdurman within the triangular capital. It produces hot and fresh out-the-oven pizzas using fresh dough that is prepared daily with unique pizzas such as the Triple-Decker®, Cram-Decker® and the Filla®. They offered delivery, dine-in, takeout services. Pre-war, Sudan was home to international food chains such as Pizza Hut and KFC.
Owned by Famous Brands, Debonairs Pizza is a South African pizza franchise founded in 1991 and now has over 900 outlets across Africa and the Middle East.
To continue serving the Sudanese population, Debonairs Pizza expanded to Egypt in 2024, opening its first branches in New Cairo. With more than 1.5 million displaced Sudanese now living there, its newest location in Nasr City held a grand opening on 17 September 2025.
Other restaurants and cafés have also relocated since the war, with Someet Gallery & Café moving to Egypt and Doodi expanding with multiple branches in the UAE.
Debonairs Pizza is now running a launch offer of two standard pizzas for SDG50,000.
