Qatar Airways to Resume Sudan Service, to Port Sudan from 2 July 2026

Qatar Airways will resume flights to Sudan after three years, launching three weekly services to Port Sudan from 2 July 2026.

The route will be deployed by an Airbus A320 aircraft.

Port Sudan will become the Gulf carrier’s second Sudanese destination. Its first, the capital Khartoum, marked the airline’s inaugural African landing in May 1994, with services to Cairo in Egypt following shortly after. However, flights to Khartoum remain suspended.

Since the 2023 conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, many carriers halted Sudan routes. Port Sudan has served as the de facto hub while Khartoum stabilises.

With the newly launched flight to to Port Sudan, passengers from key markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, including Oman and Pakistan, can transfer via Hamad International Airport (HIA).

  • Doha (DOH) to Port Sudan (PZU) – Flight QR1319: Departure 09:00; Arrival 11:00
  • Port Sudan (PZU) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR1320: Departure 12:25; Arrival 16:20

This summer, Qatar Airways will fly to over 160 destinations worldwide, connecting through its Doha hub, HIA. A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways won the ‘World’s Best Airline’ title for an unprecedented ninth time at the 2025 World Airline Awards, managed by the international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax. Qatar Airways was previously named the World’s Best Airline in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024.
